Ana the Dragon ( anaquana) wrote this ... I had likened Syl ( sylvari) to a polar Bear, (cos of her love of the cold and icy winteryness) and she replied that I am a lioness who loves to laze about in the sunshine. I loved that in and of itself, but this is what Ana wrote and I think she is most marvellous!! The Lioness and the Polar Bear Were kept too far apart Said the Lioness to the Polar Bear You're deep within my heart Said the Polar Bear to the Lioness My dear, I feel the same Said the Lioness to the Polar Bear I think we've thought it through Said the Polar Bear to the Lioness If only one of us flew So the two, they hatched a plan A daring plot to steal a plane For weeks and months they hashed it out And no one was the wiser Until the day they carried it out And Lioness stole an airliner To the States she flew with ease To land without a scratch Polar Bear, she roared with joy To see her Aussie match But the cops they soon did come And take the two away So today they rot in jail Victims of their lovelorn ways *huge grins* and I must admit.... I can so see a huge Damned party in a jail cell after a party gone wrong... Syl, Ana, BW, Becs, Az, me .... it just has that ring of authenticity to it... now if only I can get some pics.... blackmail money for LIFE!!!! :D Love you guys!!

Firstly I just wanted to say thank you So Very Much to everyone who remembered my birthday and sent me love, cards, chocolates and other assorted shiny things. I have a new banner that is the awesome and is my work desktop background, I have offers of cooking, more chocolate than I can poke a stick at, balloons, books, SOCKS (and these are fucking unreal purple and green striped socks of d00m that I am saving for a special occasion) and all sorts of other shiny shiny things.
So yes. Thank you. I can now try and wrap my head around being 30 and figure out what the hell I am doing. *grins*
In other news, Melisande and Shaye are settling in very very well. So well in fact they have been trying to pounce on the stupid birds as they pass the wire screened door. I have a feeling the time to let them wander out front for 10 or so minutes a day is coming upon me. I don't want them to spend all day (and sometimes all night) outside like Lassie always did, but I am starting to feel bad for them both. They so obviously want to go outside and I feel horrid and cruel for not letting them. They are chipped, so if they get lost and then found they will be returned to me, but they're still just babies and I don't know if I need to be strong and keep them inside, or let them have their freedom and let them go outside just for a little each day.
Thoughts and opinions would be welcomed.
Oh... and Thursday is looking like the day from d00m. Important People (yes they get capitolised) are coming for meetings and what not and I have to give a few demonstrations AND the New Zeland crew are "dropping in" so they can pick my brain over the instrument shit. I hate being put on show like a damn pony. "..... And here's Elizabeth, our new Bituminous Materials Manager, she slices she dices and feel free to ask her any number of awkward questions she has no idea about but will still manage to give you a semi coherent answer for. Buy now with your credit card and she'll even throw in free training and three days worth of Round Robin testing for free because heaven knows we don't abuse her enough and she always manages to do what we want - its why we bought her....."
*sighs*
Obviously not enough chocolate has been eaten today... my mind is all fuzzy and going to strange new places. I need more books (yes, I just GOT more books, but its rather like sex or chocolate, there's no such thing as BAD books and there's NEVER, EVER enough....).

Book Meme
This can be a quick one. Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you've read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.
1. "The Eight" - Katherine Neville (first hero I fell in love with and partially made my own nickname from) 2. "Blue Moon Rising" - Simon Green (first and almost only pure fantasy book I have ever loved, also introduced me to Green's world of sarcasm mingled with laughter) 3. "Lightning" - Dean Koontz (the plot revolves around one of my pet theories of life) 4. The HP series (nuff said) 5. "The Magician's Nephew" - C.S Lewis (aside from Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe this is my favourite of all his books) 6. "Dark Prince" - Christine Feehan (yes yes, I am sorry! but this was one of the first vampire romances I ever read and it has always stuck with me 7. "Mine to Take" - Dara Joy (one of the first steamy romance books I ever read) 8. "The Lady's Tutor" - Robin Schone (ditto with Mine to Take) 9. "Goodnight Mistor Tom" - Michelle Magorian (one of the best WW2 set children's stories I have EVER read. I still read it and cry to this day) 10. "Merryl of the Stones" - John Marsden (another teenage High school set reading book, possibly the only other foray into pure fantasy that I have ever enjoyed. I still own my Yr 8 copy of this and read it periodically) 11. A huge list of Georgette Heyer novels - Masqueraders, The Grand Sophy, These Old Shades, Devi's Cub, Sylvester, etc etc (I went through a huge time of reading historicals, I still reread these quite regularly and love my copies to death.) 12. "Here be Dragons" - Sharon Penman (possibly the best ever Robin Hood Era (1200s England and Wales) historical/factual fiction/romance book I have ever read.) 13. "Naked in Death" - JD Robb (where it all started. When I get upset/depressed or after having read a particularly hard book I still go back to this series and this book in particular and comfort read) 14. "The Stars of Mithra" series - Nora Roberts (for the quote alone of "when he first saw her all he immediately thought of was "There you are, where the hell have you been?" ... that was when the hero first met the heroine) 15. "The Doomsday Book" - C. Wellis. (an awesome fiction book set in facts about the Black Death. Bloody awesome book.)
And done with 5 minutes to spare. I could probably add on at least another 5 books, but these are definitely enough to be going on with. :)

So!!! I finally got to watch Wolverine this afternoon with Baby brother. It was the AWESOME! I can not rave about it enough. Yes, there is the blowing of things up (the helicopter and nuke funnel were simply the shit) and there was the eye candy (must remember to look up whomever that was as Gambit, he was soooo shmexy, and of course darling Hugh Jackman was nothing to sneeze at as well as a number of others....) and holy fucking hell I never thought I'd see the day Ryan Renoylds was scary... and I mean those last couple of scenes?! SCARY scary!!! *shivers* I do NOT want to see him looking like that EVER again, just the mental image of him creeps me the hell out (yes, I am a baby.... but still, he was CREEPY)
All up though it was glorious... Baby brother and I had a total blast. Terminator is next - either on the 22nd or maybe the 23rd - and we shall likely watch Angels and Demons together too... and *hangs head* there's a movie that we saw previewed..."The Hangover" ... that looked damn funny too... very me actually now I think about it. And it has Will (from Alias) in it - and I am a closet Will whore. So unless life explodes again I am thinking I might go drool all over him too .... that will be 4 movies in what? a month? That's almost gotta be a record for me.
So yes, life is finally very happy shiny again. My beautiful girls are happy, settled, driving me mental and tearing my house down brick by brick; my reading pile is coming under control, I am getting enough sleep, I have Dexter seasons 1-3 here for when I get tired of reading and aside from the fact the weather is cold and I need to lose a good 20-30 pounds everything is just shiny and wonderful.
Apologies for the short post :) I have to run or I will be late. Accountant brother and SIL had friends cancel dinner plans late yesterday and since they'd already bought the food they invited me over to help eat it *beams* not even sure what it is - I didn't ask. Hopefully it's yummy...
Love to everyone *hugs*
